CONCENTRATED GROWTH FACTORS
AS WE CONTINUE TO INCREASE OUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE HEALING CAPABILITIES OF CELLS CONTAINED IN OUR BODY, WE ARE FINDING IMPORTANT DISCOVERING THE ROLE OF IMPORTANT GROWTH FACTORS AND CYTOKINES THAT FACILITATE HEALING AND REDUCE INFLAMMATION.
AT ORTHOREGEN, OUR ADVANCED PROCESSING TECHNIQUES CONCENTRATE THESE PROTEINS THAT ARE IMPORTANT IN HEALING, CELLULAR COMMUNICATIONS, REDUCING INFLAMMATION AND PROTECTING CARTILAGE IN JONTS.
MSKDOC advanced growth factor concentrate is an autologous blood product that concentrates anti-inflammatory proteins, called cytokines, using a specialised processing technique exclusive to our clinic. These protective cytokines inhibit the destructive effects of other inflammatory mediators. Two of the major proteins we are able to concentrate are alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2M) and Interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1Ra). Recent research has shown that these two proteins block destructive inflammatory cytokines in the joints of patients with osteoarthritis.
Today, with much research underway, the biological causes of osteoarthritis are much better understood. We now know it is not just mechanical cartilage wear but a complex disease that affects the entire joint. These destructive and aggressive messenger proteins play a pivotal role in the development of Osteoarthritis. It stimulates joint inflammation and destruction of articular cartilage by stimulating other destructive proteins in the joint.
Patients who suffer osteoarthritis and are not surgical candidates or have failed other conservative treatments, such as physiotherapy, are excellent candidates for our advanced cellular and concentrated growth factor treatment. Similarly, patients who would prefer not to have joint replacement surgery can benefit greatly from these treatments.
Extensive research has found that over 70% of osteoarthritis sufferers have a 50% or greater reduction in their joint pain lasting 2-4 years (Level 1 evidence) with concentrated growth factor treatment.
